Elizabeth (Liz) Foshage, Senior Vice President, Finance at Ascension has graciously agreed to join the Ashley-O’Rourke team to strengthen our leadership development programming! Liz is about to graduate from the Executive MA in Health Care Mission, and will assume responsibilities for the Saturday morning leadership development workshops that make up a portion of the intensive studies for each course in the program.
Here’s a bit more about Liz and the qualities she brings to our team:
In her role at Ascension – a healthcare organization that includes the nation’s largest Catholic not-for-profit health system – Ms. Foshage provides oversight to the financial reporting and business processes within Ascension as well as assists in developing and organizing services and solutions to support the needs of Ascension subsidiaries. Ms. Foshage transitioned from her role as Vice-President, Finance for Ascension Health, where she directed and supervised the day-to-day activities of the finance department, including: financial performance, financial reporting, and financial planning and budgeting. Ms. Foshage has been with Ascension (and its predecessor Daughters of Charity National Health System) since 1992, serving as Director of Shared Services Accounting, Controller for the System Office and Manager for Investment Accounting.
Prior to joining Ascension, Ms. Foshage held finance positions for Missouri Baptist Health Center, St. Louis, as well as Ernst & Young, LLP, in St. Louis and New Orleans. She is a member of the Loyola University Alumni Association and has been involved in the Multiple Sclerosis Young Achievers Fund Raising Campaign as well as serving as a volunteer for the Girl Scouts. She currently serves on the Audit Committee for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, the Finance Committee for St. Gerard Majella Parish, the Ignatian Identity Committee for DeSmet Jesuit High School, the Finance Committee for the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise, and the Board and Board Committees for Mercy Care Plan and Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Foshage was a member of the 2013-2014 Leadership St. Louis program and was named one of St. Louis’ Most Influential Women Business Leaders in 2008 by the St. Louis Business Journal.
Liz earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree (cum laude) from Loyola University, New Orleans.
In addition to being a certified public accountant in the state of Missouri, Ms. Foshage is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Health Care Financial Management Association. She completed the two-year Executive Formation for Catholic Healthcare Ministry Leadership program in December 2008 from Ascension Health and Aquinas Institute. Liz is one of the co-founders of Ascension’s Management Formation Program and is currently pursuing her Masters of Art in Health Care Mission at Aquinas Institute.
